Nice score ! Golden Treasure RPX-050 and Atomic Age RP !

The Golden Treasure pickups are the sweetest sounding GE VR carts. They originally came with a diamond 1 mil (microgroove/LP/45) and a sapphire 78 stylus. Later, they could be ordered with dual diamonds.

Your red glue blob is missing the diamond 1 mil stylus tip. The 78 tip looks like new ! You can easily reglue that rubber damper with care. Contact cement, only a very small drop, can be applied with a thin knife blade (X-Acto)between the rubber and underside of the stylus bar. Then, keep the parts in contact for a while, until the glue holds tight. Excess glue can be wiped away quickly or tweezed/scraped carefully after the glue sets. The red glue blob needs a retip. The steel bonding (originally used to hold the diamond sliver during grinding/polishing) will have to be removed to ready for a retip. If I were in your predicament, I would simply save that red glue stylus for way later, if needed by the prospective retipper. Today, you can find a 1 mil or .7 mil diamond stylus, aftermarket of course, on the bay for under $20. plus postage. Buy only the golden brass color stylus assemblies and buy from a seller with a guarantee. Do not buy any silver stylus assembly !

The table should be a four pole motor version, with the turret/idler drive. For 78s, I like that setup. For the slower speeds, assuring a quiet, low rumble, smooth idler and bearing-free noise floor will be a chore. Suspect the motor mounts as well. All the drive parts are available at the voiceofmusic website. Tell Gary you need some help, and he will extend his very helpful persona. Here is a pic of my atomic age 956GE:

It looks a bit funny because of the white styrofoam spacer between platter and cork mat. I use that when playing discs manually/singly.
When restored properly, you will be thrilled with the sound...ENJOY !
