RE: TD125 buildup

MDF is one of the best materials to use. If you combine it with another material, aluminum, carbon fiber or stainless steel, ala, a sandwich, that would be even better.

Stone resonance frequencies can be problematic if not controlled properly. I have had great success using 3 to 6mm carbon fiber for arm boards. Again, you can make a sandwich using two sheets of carbon and balsa-wood in the middle.

Recently, I used solid cherry and maple as plinths, instead of MDF, and both worked extremely well. They both look fantastic, too.
