Chuck, the Cellar Door is long long gone...

probably since before you left the area. However, the Cellar Door Corporation continues to exist and owns Blues Alley, which is itself a club with history. When I was in college in the 60s, I visited DC for my first foray south of the GW Bridge, and we heard Woody Allen do stand-up at the original Cellar Door. At that time, he was "Woody Allen", not yet "WOODY ALLEN".

At that corner, there is now a cupcake bistro. Yes, boutique cupcakes.
