I am another DC Native and first saw Larry at the legendary Cellar Door in the 70's. It was just Larry and his Ovation. He had about a half dozen empty beer bottles lined up in front of him. I was blown away that he could drink that much beer and still play his ass off!
I still have the pick he played with and threw to the audience.
For me his acoustic work solo or with Phillipe Cathrine were his best work. Twin House is just killer to this day!
I just picked up a copy of Music for a Restful Mind on Vanguard LP for $3 just a week ago (serendipity?). For some reason I missed this originally? It has three quarters of Oregon (Towner, Walcott, Moore) as the backing band!!
