I like the sound of the OC9/MLII in my system. It has a refreshingly alive quality to the sound. I like the MicroLine stylus because is it has a small 2-3um minor radius which to my ears is essential for tracking my rock records from start to finish without audible treble distortion on the inner grooves using my Goldmund linear tracking tonearm. I believe van den Hul was the first to have such a small side radius and others like the MicroLine and MicroRidge have copied/were inspired by it.I'm not saying the OC9/MLII is the end-all cartridge. I want to try a Colibri next.
Regarding this new Audio Technica cartridge with coils atop the stylus, besides the increase in tip mass, I am also curious how rigid the coil carrier material is. It looks similar to epoxy and will resonate too.
