My drafting accuracy was not that good, especially the way I drew in the red lines. I basically traced the arc, and the angle of the null point tangents onto an overlay and then shifted the overlay to the inner and outer positions and drew the line segments showing the cart vector by punching little indents through the overlay an onto my illustration. I'd need to redo the drawing much more carefully with acual drafting tools and on a light table before I could perform what you ask with any confidence.
I apologize for my casual approach, but I was just trying to work out for myself why there should be two null points.
A further note - you are absolutely correct - my innermost "nontangent" is all the way in at the edge of the record label, beyond where the music stops. Drawing it there helped me to understand the general factors at play.
