The arm is interesting, it changes shape as it goes along its way from triangle to round, it changes diameter internally with a taper for the wires to run through, and it is made from thousands of microscopic strands of material bonded together with the use of the laser. It is essentially one piece and yet completely non-resonant.
More amazingly is it seems to work with an Ortofon 2M Red, or a Windfield, or an Atlas. Doesn't seem to matter much as long as the cantilever is some what compliant. Tree trunk cantilevers need not apply.
I have an HR-X and a Direct Drive next to each other with the same arm and cartridge (you can shift the arm, with cartridge mounted and set-up, back and forth in 10 seconds) They sound very, very close with the speed stability of the DD giving it a hairs more breadth, depth, and quietness.
Small differences but that is what the high end is all about.
I have a Kenwood LO-7D, a JVC- TT101 (best of all of them), M-S DDX-1000, an SP-10 MK-2, etc., all are wonderful but need someone who can maintain them, the companies can't do it!!! Most of the arms on these tables are grossly over engineered with multiple solder points, bad wire, and just way to many parts.
