I just cannot agree that as a class MC cartridges provide a "meatier" sound than does an MM cartridge. The key words are "as a class". Certainly it's possible that a particular MM cartridge will give a less "full" or "meaty" sound than a particular MC. Thirty years ago, I did own several ADC XLM cartridges, and my recollection is that the XLM is indeed among those MM cartridges that sounds rather lean, in fact. Don't know about the Sonus line of cartridges. But in general, the best MMs deliver the goods in terms of fullness and ambience, or whatever you want to call that quality.
