It really is as simple as following the trace on the circuit board from the DC input jack. Mine went from the jack, through a diode, a couple of resistors, and then directly to the 7818. I didn't have a schematic either, but it's not like I was messing with the RIAA circuit. That I wouldn't attempt without a schematic.

Easily reversible if necessary, but I'd be very surprised if you'd want to.
