Hi Lew,
You got email. Not a Brinkman at all. LMAO Lew, you should have seen this !!!
Guessing it was about 1981 or 82, about the same year Hill introduced his Plasmotronic speaker as I seem to recall. What a CES show that was.
The Oasis had two paddle wheels, horizontally displaced, in what looked like a see-through fish tank, and the bottom wheel was motor driven, and it coupled to ( and propelled ) the top paddle wheel via WATER coupling, (with each wheel NOT touching the other). The platter and record mat were on the top wheel.
Hey hifitommy, I lived in W.L.A. back then. So far, its only you and I recalling it! Did the Oasis "get you going" when you viewed it for the very FIRST time? I almost started laughing out loud. I WISH someone could show others here a photograph of that table, while it was spinning and the water was churning. Rube Goldberg ...designer ?? Ohh man.
