In case anyone's interested, I just got my Grace F9 back from SoundSmith with Mr. Lederman's mid-priced ($299) stylus assembly. I'm very impressed. I removed my Ortofon 2M Black to audition the F9 with the RS-9U assembly, and the latter was unambiguously superior in clarity, dynamics and detail.

Even more impressed were two friends who were over to check out the cartridge's performance. Both own $2-3K MC cartridges and now at least one is looking for an F9 cartridge body to send to SoundSmith.

As I have a second turntable, so am I, but this time I'll invest in one of the ruby-cantilever assemblies.

Please note I have no connection with Sound-Smith other than having purchased the stylus assembly and being more than satisfied with the result.
