...especially since according to your website you are a VPI dealer.As for cartridge weight distribution, you surely must be aware that counterweights on unipivot arms often are eccentrically mounted and can be rotated to adjust azimuth. And contrary to your suggestion, I've found nearly every cartridge I've aligned, including some very expensive ones costing thousands of dollars, has its optimum azimuth setting at something different from dead level, ranging from a couple tenths of a degree to two or three degrees, the latter being plainly visible from across the room (ask Muzikmike). For what it's worth I've found VPI arms to be some of the most difficult to adjust due to the gross way the azimuth ring moves, which is why I recommend the Soundsmith accessory. But then I'm a perfectionist.
