I've aligned quite a few turntable systems, including unipivot arms such as VPI and Kuzma. For VPI arms I recommend the Soundsmith accessory that makes azimuth adjustment far easier and more precise. And while cartridges with line contact styli can show the biggest differences azimuth adjustment makes, ordinary elliptical styli benefit as well.

I use the Feickert Adjust+ Pro software, of which many are aware, including Muzikmike, tubesforever, and John Elison, who have seen me use it at Mike's. It leaves little room for guesswork and chance. Measuring crosstalk and channel levels is one thing; minimizing phase error is quite another and correlates much more closely to the way we hear. There are many ways to skin the cat, and John likes to study such topics.
