maybe I have been lucky in my choice of arm and cart. I have a Garrard 401 with two tier oak plinth with arm mounted on a steel pillar on the lower plinth, the arm is a rosewood unipivot, actually looks like a wilson benesch act with an SAE 1000LT cart, a match made in heaven, for what it all cost, around £1000 I've heard nothing that comes close, including carts costing £3500. Synergy is the key and that includes the step up and phono choice.
