Home Vinyl Asylum

Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I removed all excuses...

When I added a dedicated audio workstation to my rig.

OK...its a standard old computer setup for digital audio recording but thats what its called.

Now that I have that computer setup and hooked up full time its very easy to sit in my listening seat with the wireless keyboard in my lap and hit the "M" key to mark the space between each track.

I do have to stop and save the side but it has gotten so easy that its almost as easy as the old CDR recorder. I now end up with 24/192 WAV or FLAC files. One file for each side of a LP.

If I feel like it, I can split up the files later or just leave it as it is. It makes playback more "vinyl" like.

It has gotten very easy and that makes "archiving" pretty simple.

I've started with one 2TB USB 3.0 external hard drive hooked to the computer in question but I will be adding more...obviously.
