I use it currently, and it replaced VPI's house cable (based on Discovery wire, reportedly) between my HRX and preamp. The VPI is a very good cable, and I used it for several years. The AU24e is better, particularly on top; sibilants are rendered more realistically with much less splash, and the improvement came without any overall loss of shimmer on, for example, cymbals. Over the past few months I've gone to an all-AU24e cabling system and I've greatly enjoyed the results. They do an impressive job of conveying information and seem to do it without adding any obvious colorations. Hope this helps.
