RE: Lots of variables in play...

If I were in your shoes and from what you describe, I'd probably just bite the bullet and try another Black stylus. If you still have problems with edgy sibilants, you could sell the whole thing and probably at least make back the cost of the new stylus.

I suspect the bent cantilever presents something of a Humpty Dumpty scenario; once its structural integrity has been compromised it can't be made right again.

As for the problems with the motor resonance on some Pro-Ject models, I believe there is now a kit available from the U.K. and U.S. distributors that changes the mounting scheme. I don't know about Canada, but if I had one of these tables, I'd definitely want to get one of these kit.

Vinyl can be frustrating, but I think the issues you are experiencing can be resolved. Good luck!
