I see them as two different applications. it's been my experience that a zerostat gets rid of static quicker and in great amounts than a brush. i zerostat right after a cleaning and i usually don't need to again. if i feel static when the record comes out of the sleeve I'll zerostat. other than that a brush works for any small amount of static and for picking up dust etc.
