go for the New Sensor Mullard re-issues. If you want a bit more open, transparent sound, go for the Sov-Tek 12AX7LPS. Then there are the myriad of NOS tubes. But for current production, the two above are good choices, reasonably priced. Whatever tubes you buy, have them tested for lowest noise/harmonics. This is vital in a phono preamp.Oh, the 2M Blue stylus is an excellent upgrade as well when it is time to replace the Red stylus.
