Good point and that's the real pleasure and value of having a large collection. If I want to listen to "Auld Lang Syne" on New Years Eve, no problem, I pull out the Guy Lombardo 78 and give it a spin. To some, that record might be "average" and granted, I don't spin it often, but it's nice to have along with the ninety other Guy Lombardo 78s on the shelf.I happen to use another Guy Lombardo 78 "Get Out Those Old Records" as the intro music for my weekly two hour radio show "Dave's Old Time Radio." A show I would not be able to produce if I didn't have 7,000 78s to draw from.
I can appreciate that some folks lack the space, listening time, or desire to maintain a large collection, but it sure is nice to draw from a wide and varied collection that offers practically anything I want to hear as the mood strikes.
