Early 60's? Gee, you're really old!

Oh my God...I'm in my early 60's too! Forget about what I wrote!

Seriously, that may be the way I could talk myself "out from" doing the same thing myself. I couldn't afford the rerds I wanted when I was younger, milk and eggs vs. a new LP (I had my first set of kids almost trained to do without food, then they up and died on me).

I really loved giving LPs to friends, when I was finding (for instance) 5-6 copies of "Something Else" or 10 (or more) copies of Ella and Louis. When it got a bit tougher to find the truly rare stuff, I became more of a hoarder.

I would have "record grabs" at Ribfests, which was both fun and a way to get rid of my culls. It was hilarious to watch and hear as one inmate would grab an LP another one would have wanted and gotten if I'd pulled his number from the hat.

And I just realized how I can begin culling again!

Hey, everyone...LP grab at Ribfest this year! I'll get greedy and have a fee for the pull...maybe this year I won't go about $250-$350 in the hole as I have every other year. I have to figure out SOMETHING. I love throwing a good party but they aren't cheap! The trick for me is to not feel guilty for something I shouldn't feel guilty about, but it's in my blood.

All AA members are invited for Ribfest, June 2. As far as we can figure, this is the 10th or 11th Ribfest and it becomes a better party every year. Meet fellow inmates and eat ribs and brisket and other yummies.

Gettysburg is 1/2 hour from my house (where the 'fest is held), so you history buffs can use that as another excuse. The Western Maryland Blues Fest in Hagerstown, MD is the same weekend (why Ribfest began in the first place); it's about 1/2 hour from my home, too.

E-mail if interested in the 'fest and finding out how pretty South Central PA is at this time of the year.
