I truly like my Grado Reference Sonata1 (and even my older Gold). But I'm wondering whether there might be a cart somewhere south of $1,000 (the farther south the better) that offers the Grado's smoothness and lack of glare in the mid and upper frequencies withOUT the tendency to become bloated in the lower registers. I find the Grado's range from the upper bass down to be characterized by what might be described as a somewhat billowy, soft, wooly or diffusive quality. Any ideas? THANKS!
