It's the typical collecting cycle. An object has value, then it gets tossed away, then people start collecting the ones that remain and it goes back up. I used to be able to walk into any thrift store and buy all the vinyl I could carry for 25 cents a pop. Now we're back to paying at least several dollars for stuff in good condition.
The Internet has made this round of collecting a bit different since a single forum post can drive up demand for a particular table.
...and on that note, the Fisher MT-35 is the best sounding table I've heard in a long while! A real sleeper!
