Reasons for distorted sibilance?

Hey!

Been spinning my records for about three weeks now since dipping in the Analog Waters. I have a Sumiko Black Pearl set to 1.8g and aligned to a tee using the protractor from enjoythemusic.com.

I've noticed that with some records I play that 's' sounds come through distorted. Either like 'shhh' or it sounds like static.

Is this a result of a dirty record? I clean each side before and after playing with a carbon fiber brush, but perhaps there's some deep down dirtiness in the depths of the grooves where these passages of play partake?

Your experienced thoughts are welcome...

Steve
