Re: Bybee slipstream Filters!

I visited the Bybee web site. No offence intended to anyone, but it saddens me that apparently intelligent people can be taken in by this sort of thing. It reminds me of the silly gadgets that were offered to wannabe "boy racers" in the 1960s, to make their cars go faster (such as spark intensifiers, fuel flow regulators, exhaust gas smoothing fans, etc). Fitting them required little or no specialized knowledge, so any enthusiastic DIY-er could try them out.

Of course, there were advertisements aplenty for these contraptions, which included plausible technobabble explanations as to why these devices supposedly "worked", together with glowing endorsements from "delighted users". The pseudo-engineering garbage fooled plenty of gullible punters. Eventually, these "go faster goodies" were tested by reputable automotive bodies and shown to be of no benefit and, in some cases, actually detrimental to the car's performance. The truth was resisted, for a while, by the hard-core converts, but people eventually came to their senses and the market evaporated.
