Here goes. When I say the life has been sucked out of the music, I mean that not only background noise is gone, but even some of the musical information seems to disappear as well. It could be just a drop in the critical midrange frequencies. The ambient echos and long instrumental decays in a recording that were once heard are now gone. That to me is the "life" in the recording. Perhaps you and others call it something else.Does that help?
