You might call or write M&K with your observations. I've found them willing to talk to me in the past when I had a question about their products. There might (or might not) be be some less than obvious reason for the four vs. eight screws. In any case, they've always seemed to me to be interested in the quality of their product, so I think they might at least be interested in the loose screws mounting the amplifier.
