I used a solder station set at about 65W on the 15.5 gauge version of the Cardas. The solder was either Wonder Clear or Cardas Eutectic. You have to apply heat and solder simultaneously and for a prolonged period in order to burn off the varnish on the Litz wire, but it does happen after a while. Unfortunately, then the gunk from the wire fouls up the tip of the solder iron, so I too would recommend a solder pot, even though the job can be done without one. As for sonics, the tonearm wire is pretty nice, but I am reserving judgment on the 15.5 gauge stuff, which I am using inside a spkr. Right now it seems to blur the sonics a bit.
