I don't know, but all indications are the crystal is in a metal can-like container. That may be different for the Sony (?) SCD.If it's any help, you can check a post by badman on 3/13/02 entitled "Easy CDP tweak". Also, some replies to my post: psgary 5/26/02 "Help-Rotel 855 and blue tack tweak".
Of course, with a little luck someone who knows something will answer your post, rather than just me.
