More Details and a Question

CR, just reread your post and see that in my haste to tell my finishing tale I missed part of your question.

I have the same problem with the surface "sticking" if it touches another. The issue lies with the type of paint we are using, I believe. My surface hasn't peeled (that Kilz is great primer), but you can dent or scar the clear enamel with cone tips, etc.

Does anyone know what is put on pianos or other commercial grade applications for a tough surface that's clear?
