Hi tubesguy,
The JC-2 it is a all time classic! I have been using , updating, modifieing, abusing the JC-2 during a 25 year time period. The unit was also struck by lightning. It has been a source of pleasure for me and inspiration for my own preamplifier. I still like it, but potting the circuits was a foolish thing to do.
Good luck with your unit; hopefully it will give you many years of troubleless service.
