That is not true. The "signal going away from the speaker" affects the speaker just as much as the "signal going towards the speaker".
The signal going away from the speaker in one of the two wires IS the signal going towards the speaker in the other wire. And that signal can only flow towards the speaker as good as it is allowed to flow away from the speaker and visa versa. And that is obvious to the rest of us. Just not you for some reason.
