While doing my yearly cleaning of connectors, one of my cd input cables shorted, i lost half of the signal at the out put on both sides.
I listened to the headphone output , it is fine.
I built a cable to plug my headphone output to my speaker leads, turned off the speakers and I am currently listening at a higher volume setting, 12:00, where with the speakers i was listening at 9:00 setting.
The sound pressure level is the same at 65-75 db.
I have a replacement receiver, to replace while tracing the problem.
Can not live with out music.
My speakers are Polk 1b, 6 ohm
Maybe i am ready for an set amp.
Now I can go thru the receiver, a Sansui au317.
Should i start at the output or input and trace the signal, planning on using 1000 hz, comments please.
