This basic question was solved about 30 years ago by AudioQuest cable manufacturer. Since then there has been a continuous whining noise from anti-tweakers, anti-audiophiles and audio backsliders possessing very bad hearing or all thumbs. The atomic structure of the metal is what we call crystal lattice structure and is unique for most metals. The metal crystal lattice structure gets deformed weakened when hammered, formed, pulled through dies, etc. Geez, talk about being behind the times.
