Does the finish on an amp or preamp chassis influence the sound? For example painted vs. brushed aluminum? Seems like it could?

If painted, does the paint color also affect the sound?

I am rebuilding some preamps and building some amp kits and I need to decide how to finish the chassis exteriors...
