Note about fuses:

I'll just come out and say it.....

Fuses wear out.....even if not stressed above rating.

A fuse run far below rating SHOULD last decades, unless inrush current at startup is an issue.

A fuse run at say......80% of rating might not last for 'decades'......

WHY? At least in a DC circuit, which would be perhaps power supply output? Electric current tends to 'drag' the conductor in the direction of electron flow.....This can result in a thinning of the conductor at point of maximum current DENSITY... And may result in eventual failure.

Is this a cause for alarm or worry? NOT AT ALL....But I would tend to treat even modestly priced after market fuses of maybe 50$ each or Less, as Consumables.....Depending on the circuit I'd be reluctant to spend really Big Bucks on a fuse.

What I note here is a known failure mode in semiconductors where it's known as electro migration.

I suspect the same goes for an AC circuit, which would be the line side of a conventional PS....just as an example....
Too much is never enough
