Yes, thanks, I'll be doing capacitors as well.The mods to this CD transport are available as DIY kit form, or you can send the unit in to get it done. It's a company in Europe.
They build a bridge rectifier with axial diodes to replace the existing DF02M's. (pic)
In my case I picked the axial diode (edit: values that meet/exceed DF02M) pretty much because those were the only ones available from the suppliers a I order from time to time.
But maybe I should look at something more elaborate as you suggest. Though as mentioned earlier, space is limited.
