In another week I should be able to tell you what I think about this inverter:

I've had grid tie for about 12 years, and am now putting an off grid system together to run office, pool and garage. My guess is going to be that most of these inverters aren't any worse with regards to noise as all of the electronics, motors etc., we have in our homes that will plug into it.
With regards to battery, I bought a lithium ion, and would only recommend it if you can keep it cool. It is very hot here in the summers and have gutted a heatpump, leaving the evaporator coil, to store and cool the battery by circulating cool water through the evaporator coil.
I am using a Raspberry Pi to control it, monitoring the battery level, when drop below certain thresholds it turns off things that impact me the least, starting with pool pump, garage AC...
Lead acid batteries will be fine, just make sure to vent them. I've fooled with different battery types for electric bikes and hybrid vehicles. A lot of people re-purpose EV batteries, which is a good idea, but the prices are up. I would not recommend NiMH they don't do well unless you keep them within a fairly narrow charge range.
