in the XT Mini the tweeter compression driver diaphragm is 3/4"(19mm)in the next two larger models they go up to a 1" tweeter diaphragm. I have found the smaller the woofer and tweeter the better they integrate so choose the woofer that can generate the level you need remembering smaller integrated over a shorter listening distance. If you were into Jazz you would not need a sub with these unless you were really into bass. These have all the advantages of a full range but none of the disadvantages. You do need to meet the cost of entry and you won't get a lot of level and bass using a flea watt SET amp so you need to consider a suitable amplifier. I run mine on a Benchmark AHB2 and they sing. I also have a pair of XT6 which have a larger woofer (with the 1" compression tweeter)I prefer the XT Mini for near field monitoring I sit about 10" from the speakers. In a larger setting the XT6 work fine(but I still prefer the improved resolution of the smaller XT Mini). If you want bass as well and don't want to use subs then there are two floor stander double driver versions in dual 6" and dual 8" neither requires a sub both play lots loud. In both cases the helper woofer is identical to the DC driver woofer except the tweeter has been left out.
