it's a 4 incher and no matter what magic you perform it will not have 'bass', especially open baffle. It will never move much air without extreme excursion well beyond the xmax. If your volume level is low, perhaps 75db, you can equalize it but watch out for xmax which is probably 1/8".
If the manufacturer ran some graphs what were the conditions?
