RE: Affordable solid brass faceplate

You seem to disregard the fact that the brass structure is covered with carbon fiber. It's safe to assume that brass was chosen since it helps conduct the stray magnetic fields which are then dissipated by the semi-conductive carbon fiber material. It's the same concept as the Highwire Power Wrap with a copper wire as a core, which is then covered with mu-metal for energy dissipation. I have evaluated a simple brass AC outlet wall plate, and found a basic non-magnetic stainless steel product like Furutech offers to be a better sounding option, but nothing too special since it simply sounds better than a plastic wall plate. A non-magnetic stainless steel Hubbell product can be purchased at Home Depot for much less cash outlay.
