RE: Shunt resistor choice (possibly correct or incorrect math)??? JR??

120/50000= .024Amps .024 amps x 120 volts= 2.88 watts. If my math is correct than that will be one very hot shunt resistor. If my math is incorrect I would like to know why and what the proper math is. Tweaker456
