A related question: I've now got both tabs of the outlet's ground strap to the box, as well as the ground jumper. Is there any concern about having too many connections to ground? Perhaps isolating one of the two tabs of the ground strap from the box would be advisable?

As it pertains to NEC code, no. Everything meets bare minimum NEC electrical safety standards. (I assume the electrician bonded the bare equipment grounding conductor of the Romex to the aluminum box so as to meet NEC.)
The Purpose of the NEC code is for the protection of life and property. NEC could care less how your audio system sounds. NEC is not meant to be used as a how to instruction manual.

.

As for the sound quality of your audio system? Well, the late Al Sekela, an EE, used to say when a metal box was used one end of the supporting back strap of the duplex receptacle should be insulated from the box. He said to place some type of insulating material between the strap and the box, (one end only), and use a nylon 6/32 screw to support the strap to the box. I would think the strap support end opposite the ground terminal screw of the duplex receptacle, when used, should be the one insulated from the metal box.

You might try doing a search in the archives for Al's posts on the subject. I personally never experimented with the tweak to see if I could hear any difference.

.

I did experiment when I read a post where Al said a receptacle with a steel supporting back strap worked as a one pole inductor and will degrade the sound of an audio system. I found he was correct. Audio receptacles with steel back straps, or metals with ferrous materials, should be avoided.

What manufacture/style duplex receptacle you are using?
