Someone mentioned open baffle. Of course, Siegfried Linkwitz's excellent LX speakers immediately came to mind. In addition to the speakers, a certain amount of electronics and amplifiers are required. So, that would be an excellent potential project for a group buy, to bring the cost down a bit. I recently heard his system, and, really, it was excellent!
