I own an old Cabre AS45 two-way active crossover.
It's an entry-level "hi-fi" product with so-so components.Last year I upgraded the electrolytics (Nichicon KZ in the PSU and Elna silmic II as coupling caps) and replaced the old TL072 opamps with OPA2134 in sockets.
Under each opamp I added a 0.1uF MLCC capacitor between (+) and (-) pins.Globally the sound has improved but I'm still not so happy about it. It's a little bit unrefined and "hazy".
So i've decided to order 4 LM4562 opamps. Two will be used as input buffers and the two other ones will be at the high pass outputs. i will keep OPA2134 on the low-pass outputs.
There are no other active devices in the circuit.
There is NO local decoupling next to the opamps, only the 0.1uF MLCC I added myself. What are my chances to encounter oscillation?
In my old Revox B226 cd player I managed to use LM4562 with great success despite the old circuit and lack of local decoupling, but there was a big ground plane and i managed to have 0.1uF across pins + 0.1uF from V- to ground.
I doubt it will be possible with this circuit.Has anybody here used LM4562 in place of old chips in an "old" circuit with positive outcome?
