I'm glad your PSU upgrade project is performing well, Sondek. The Zerozone 100VA PSU in use for my Xfinity X1 digital CATV box is also performing very well, along with other devices for better 2-channel HT CATV audio. I recently pulled a classic Audio Alchemy DDE v1.0 DAC with top-of-the-line Power Station Two PSU out of storage to hear how it sounds with the Xfinity X1 digital CATV box, and find its sonic signature to be spot-on for the application. What it might lack in high-performance dynamics when compared to a more modern DAC is countered by a very smooth and polite characteristic that helps take the edge off typically unrefined sounding program material, while allowing plenty of detail and vital midrange presence necessary for a coherent expression of the human voice. Yet another audiophile-quality power cord upgrade is in the works, which should improve the performance of the vintage DAC to an even more acceptable level. While I don't have a cavalier attitude towards pouring funds into a CATV box, I do wish to enjoy the audio signal as much (or even more so) as the video signal, especially when premium 2-channel HT programs are involved in my listening experiences. Television tends to be irritating enough without having to tolerate bad audio tossed into an A/V presentation...
