The Sonarquest are slightly exaggerated in the upper mids and treble (meaning just a wee bit forward and bright, which can increase the excitement factor some), just a tad, when compared to the Furutechs. The Furus are smooth and clean and properly warm and full sounding. Very neutral and balanced, to my ears. The Sonars are a bit 'rough' sounding by comparison, as well, with little imbalances here and there that give it that roughness. The Furus are really a very nicely balanced, neutral sounding connector, IMHE.
But their pricing went up a lot since I bought my Furus long ago, so the relatively inexpensive solid copper Sonarquests were tried instead, and found to be quite acceptable sonically, again, when using the pure Cu type. Not perfect (but what ever is in this hobby?)
Hope that helped out.
Cheers,
WS
