Good question, Mike. That's the thing. I'm not sure I have a problem, per se. The system sounds pretty good to me, and most people who've heard it have liked it. Some like it a lot.

That said, if I could IMPROVE the sound significantly for a little over $500, maybe I should at least give these things a try. More than a few people on Audiogon seem to have had positive experiences with them. I would get a 30-day trial and just be out return shipping if they didn't work as advertised. But, as I mentioned to Lew below, something about the zeal with which people treat HFC products rings the alarm bells for me, and I'm not sure I should risk even the return shipping.

I dunno. It's a quandary!
