Well, of course it does. If the cook added a little arsenic to your mashed potatoes you might not notice a thing. A teaspoon full of arsenic and you're sick for days. A tablespoon and you're no longer with us. Doesn't this go without saying?

Right. In other words, you eventually would have discovered everything.
