I have plenty of experience with various IEC inlets. My favorite is the platinum + palladium plated phosphorous bronze Oyaide Power Inlet R IEC inlet.
It comes with the gold quick-disconnects, but you don't have to use them. In most cases I prefer to direct-solder internal AC wiring to the IEC inlet.
Sonically very neutral and coherent. It mates well with all IEC connectors I've used with it, especially the Oyaide C-004 Beryllium IEC connector with the same plating scheme. Gold plated Furutech IEC inlets are excellent if you seek a warmer sounding sonic signature.
